Prelude to a journey (and a warning)

It’s 2:30 a.m., I haven’t slept since last night, and in just a little more than a half hour I’ll be in the car with Keith and my parents, setting out on the first leg of our journey to Michigan. We’ll be travelling up through Pennsylvania, stopping at interesting points along the way, and arriving in Cleveland, Ohio, for the night. Then, we’ll make our way to Grand Rapids, Michigan. And then we’ll head on up to good ol’ Sault Sainte Marie to visit Grandma and Grandpa. And we’ll make our way back home — through Canada — making one final stop at Niagara Falls.

But before I set out, let me leave you with this warning, courtesy of the Maryland State Highway Administration:

And with that, I bid you a good night and good luck.
