Ask your doctor if you have a history of listlessness

Why isn’t there a pill to motivate me? We have a pill for everything else in America, and I don’t think it would hurt to have one more, especially if it’s one that will help us get more done.

There. I’ve already made the logo. Now someone please get busy on the pill. I need it by next week.

I thought it was about time to check in with the Sarahthon, seeing as my first 5K of the year is creeping up a lot faster than I want it to. I would have liked to go running outside today. Alas, it was gross weather — wintry mix and all — and so I got Keith to force me to go to the gym. I ran the hills workout on the treadmill for 30 minutes. According to the treadmill I went 2.31 miles.

Unfortunately, due to my debilitating motivationlessness (in all areas of my life, it seems), this was literally the hardest workout I’ve had since September. Yikes. Three weeks — I hope I’ll be able to finish in good time.

So what I’m wondering now is why they don’t also make an insta-in-shape pill, too. I don’t mean like performance enhancing — I don’t need to be super-awesome, just in shape enough to finish 3.1 miles in 30 minutes. Like, now.
